I started shaving the back of my head, from ear to ear. I let my bangs hang loose, and braided the rest with red yarn (about 5 strings per braid). I only braided my hairs' length, the rest of the yarn hung loose. Then I wrapped the braids with yellow and orange yarn, again only my hairs length. It doesn't look good loose, but when put in two ponytails, or just one, I think it looks cool and fun. It's not that heavy since it's only yarn, so I can attach all sorts of stuff.
It wasn't pleasent to sleep on the first few days (spent the night sleeping on my cheeck) but then I got used to it.
