Paul's hair was first braided and then wrapped along the lengths with strips of blue plastic bin-bag - the ends were sealed off with a lighter and rolled into shape.

Paul says:
The spiky ends are due to the fact they are burnt at the ends, seals them up that way. The plastic was quite thick so they are quite rigid.
Then in there I have thin plastic tubing: several shades of blue and a transparent. Oh, I also got come blue solid lacing used in lawn strimmers (cheap that) and of course, blue UV reflective rexlace.
Phew..!
then to keep it out of my face during the day (and out of my beer) I stick in two mini clips with an elastic hair band strung across. Simple.
