The method to my madness was this: I braided all of my hair (and i have a lot - mid-back length) with glow in the dark rexlace. Then i tied the tubes and more glow in the dark rexlace to the roots of the braids. I didn't completely cover the braids with tubing because it was too much work (i have a lot of hair) and i knew i'd have to take it all out for my new job which i started last Monday. So i played around with it. I added other stuff to it: black and fuschia synthetic dreads, strips of black relfective nylon cloth (that's the silver stuff you see reflecting in the second and third pictures), pink children's jump ropes (the thicker pink plastic stuff that the blinking lights are attatched to), and, of course, the blinking lights.
It was a fun little hair-do. I absolutely hated it the first day, loved it the second, hated it the third day, etc. In fact, i was planning to rip it all out the day after i put it in, i was so unhappy with it, but then i forced myself to keep it in. It doesn't look like proper plastic hair, which, i think jarred me at first. After awhile i got used to it and rather liked the fact that it looked more DIY. I call it "Max Max: Beyond Raverdome."
