This is what I did. First I shaved of all the hair at the back of my head (ear to ear). I love this shaved feeling, it's so liberating and I don't have to mess about with all the stupid short hair around the back of my head. It was a bit tricky to shave myself, but with the help of 2 bathroom mirrors it worked OK.
I bleached my roots and tried to get rid of most of the red from my hair. I then dyed it all green. I saved the front part of my hair as I plan to put long green/yellow loose extensions here and then started braiding the rest of my hair with yellow/green tubing from RS Component. I don't actually like the RS plastic much as I think it's a bit too rigid and heavy. But it works OK if mixed with other stuff. The lanyard however is much better. The braided-in tubing doesn't pull much at my hair at all. So far this feel much more comfortable than my first attempt at tubing hair |

1-2 hours later I was finished with this |

The next day I started tying the lanyard into my hair. This is very time consuming. I put short pices of plastic near the roots and longer ones further down the braids. This is another picture of the half finished hair taken on Saturday before going out to Tech Noir. |

Ed's note: This is the finished hair from the front - Atropa has added loose extensions at the front. She has also run a couple of green plastic straws through a pencil sharpener which turns them into hollow curls - and then encased some of the loose hair in the spiralling straws. |
